Chicken with Sherry (New Orleans Style)

Ingredients

4 chicken legs or breasts

1/4 cup butter
1 cup chicken stock, water or broth
1 can Italian stewed tomatoes
1 onion, finely chopped
8 baby carrots
1 tsp. Oregano
1/2 tsp. MSG
1/2 cup sherry
Salt and pepper to taste

Quarter the chicken and sauté it in butter until golden brown. Remove chicken pieces and put them in a Casserole. Add remaining ingredients except sherry. Stir until mixed and warmed. Deglaze pan in which birds were browned and pour everything into the Casserole. Cover and bake at 300 degrees for 1/2 hour. Mix in sherry at the end.
